While in college, I began my search for the perfect dog. I would frequent YesterDog in Michigan. I also tried a few Chicago Dog stands while visiting Chicago. When I graduated from college, I wanted to open up my own hot dog stand in the U-District (University of Washington, Seattle), but instead accepted a sales position in New York City. That decision turned out to be the best hot dog decision I could make.

For 14 years, I sampled New York City and New Jersey hot dogs. When I visited Los Angeles I made sure I scheduled time for a few famous LA Hot Dog establishments. You could say I became an expert on Hot Dogs. In 2003, I moved to Charlotte and started experimenting with my own hot dog concoctions.

Once I settled on the perfect dog (Texas Wiener – Snapper Style), I tested my creation with my wife and kids. They loved the dogs. I then tested with my extended family and they loved them. Of course, what did I think my mom would say? I then started testing with my southern friends and they loved the “Snapper Dogs” and demanded that I open a hot dog stand.

A Snapper Dog is an all natural wiener that is quick fried in 100% vegetable oil, added to a bun, then finished with yellow mustard, raw chopped onions, and topped with a secret recipe home-made all meat chili sauce.

The soon to be famous Snapper Hot Dog is sometimes called a Texas Wiener, fried dog, Coney Island or “ripper”. I like to call them, “Ripper Snappers”. A Snapper Dog tastes like no other hot dog.

Did I say that our dogs are all-natural?

I will say it twice. The wieners and condiments have no food dyes and no MSG. They are Gluten-Free and meet the Feingold Program standards for those on a sensitive diet.

Here are some quick help tips on ordering.

“One All the Way”, you will receive a Snapper Dog with mustard, onions, and Texas chili sauce. Of course, you will most likely order two or three.
“One without onions”, you will receive a Snapper dog with mustard and Texas chili sauce.
“One, just sauce”, you get the picture.

Or order any way that you want. We love your business.

We also have a few other hot dogs on the menu including a cheddar dog, a Carolina dog, and a Kraut dog. Those you have to call by name. All are served with a “Snapper style natural casing fried dog”. We also offer steamed all beef, natural casing dogs or All-Beef skinless dogs that can be used to build any of our dogs.

Our Hot Dogs set the standard for wholesome and consistent quality. Only the freshest cuts of meat and the finest ingredients and spices make it into a Snapper Hot Dog. We are committed to serving only the best.
